KINsho commitments

Our commitments were created to keep our actions aligned with our intentions for health, wellness and mindful consumption.

sustainability

Kinsho is committed to low waste, sustainable and eco-friendly practices.

  •  Products are made of 100% recyclable material.
  • Our packaging is purposefully minimal and fully biodegradable.
  • Our factory partners have passed safe, fair and clean manufacturing inspections.
  •  We use ocean shipping 99% of the time:
    • The greenest way to ship is via ocean freight, which has the lowest carbon-emission of any mode. In fact, it’s so low, the World Shipping Council found that a shipment of cargo from Australia to Long Beach (approximately  8,000 miles) produces less carbon emissions than trucking the same goods from Long Beach to Dallas (approx. 1,500 miles).
  • Our office is digital, virtual, uses recycled scrap paper for all writing needs and consumes zero-waste lunches (e.g., cloth napkins, no leftovers left behind…)

woman-owned business

We are a woman (and mom!) owned business and committed to supporting other women.

Some of our business partners and collaborators include:

  • Our global shipping partner, based in Boston and China is owned by Leslie. Her team manages all our freight logistics. She is an anomaly in the male dominated world of global shipping. We are one of her smaller clients and we are very lucky and honored to work with her team.
  • Our branding and web design team in Washington state, Shiloh and Rachel, keep our product packaging, website and even our founder’s book cover, looking amazing.
  • Several of of our popular products are made in Molly’s factory. Molly is another pioneer working successfully in the male dominated world of manufacturing.
  • We are part of the vibrant BranchFood community in Boston, founded and run by Lauren. She is a master connector and hands-on supporter of food entrepreneurs,
  • So far, all of our Instagram promotions and bento menu recommendations are with women-owned businesses. We see the everyday hustle of our peers and love doing what we can to support!

the future of FOOD

Kinsho is an active member of broad initiatives to support increased mindful consumption and wellness within our food culture.

  • We are a member of the Georgetown University Portion Balance Coalition.
  • We speak at Food Entrepreneur events and give Mindful Eating workshops.
  • Kinsho is a member of the BranchFood community and makes frequent donations to local charities.

purposeful giving

We donate our products to people and communities in need.

Kinsho partners with Good360, the global leader in product philanthropy and purposeful giving, to donate our products to people who most need them in communities across America.

Good360 works with “socially responsible companies to source highly needed goods and distribute them through our network of diverse nonprofits that support people in need.”  We are thrilled to be a partner!

“I started this company to support more mindful consumption for myself and family. Declaring these commitments helps us ensure that we continue to walk what we talk as we scale.
